Topics before Moving to DION

2001.5.19 (Sat)
Page design has been renewed and named as "JOTARO on the WEB". At same time started an access counter, which do not increase number by continuous reload attack as seen in this one.
2001.4.30 (Mon/Holiday)
I accessed to the pages of Kogenkai (alumni association of Kumamoto High School) after a long time absence, and corrected the registry informations. I checked the neighboring registrations to find that some classmates are living in nearby places, such as Hatsudai or Oyama-machi. There is a possibility to have met with one of them, but I have never found. Because more than twelve years have passed....
2001.4.26 (Thu)
A welcome and farewell party of Sugawara's Lab. was held at Shimo-Kitazawa. One month delayed farewell was very timingless, but a period may be put on. Although I'll go to the Lab. again on May 1.
2001.4.19 (Thu)
A FAX line was introduced to my room. If you need the number, please ask me by e-mail (...no need ?). Since MYLINE is KDDI, it's triple set with DION and H"-PHS.
2001.4.11 (Wed)
I got a mail account at Takahashi's Lab. The new address is jotaro.nakazaki@gakushuin.ac.jp. Correspondences on accademic affair are preferable to be sent to this address. For a moment, mails to the old address, naka@pentacle.c.u-tokyo.ac.jp, will be transfered to the new one.
2001.4.2 (Mon)
An inaugural ceremony of staffs of Gakushuin University was held today. Even it was the first day, I arrived there just in time because of delay of Yamanote line, which was caused by an accident. Anyway, I went back to Komaba in the evening, and attended to Sugawara's lab. It became very similar to the past days. How long does this schedule repeat ?

2001.4.1 (Sun)
My life at Sugawara's lab., Dept. of Basic Science, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, The Univ. of Tokyo, has ended. It continued for six and a half years. Simultaneously, my life in Komaba campus, which lasted 12 years, has come to the close. The scene of welcome events around the Bldg.1 seems to be same as those of twelve years ago.
My research results are listed here. It's very various even for me.
2001.3.13 (Tue)
A workshop, which served as the final report of the CREST project, was held at Komaba. Strictry, we held a workshop. Since we must prepare the workshop itself and presentations in the workshop, we worked overnight. Especially, Prof. Sugawara, who enrolled leading actor and staff leader, seemed the most busy. As for me, it was convenient that I wasn't ordered to speak English.
2001.1.1
I met new year (= new century) at lab. with operating GPC. On Dec.31 of every year, I stayed lab. till 23:30 (MC1), 23:50 (MC2), overnight (DC1, DC2), and 23:40 with a return at 0:18 (DC3). Such schedule is continuoius ? I didn't try to see the first sunrize, since it was rainy around three o'clock, but I woke up to see fine sky.
2000.12.29
At last, my 30th birthday has come....
2000.12.20
The paper titled "Prototypal Organic Quantum Spin Device Composed of Spin-Polarized Donors" was read at the 4th symposium of quantum effects and related phenomena. It should have been read by Prof.Sugawara, but I was set in front of the poster board with putting on a ribbon.
2000.11.23
I signed up to DION, and started to transfer my pages from pentacle.
2000.11.1
Dr. Matsushita joined to Sugawara's Lab. as an assistant. "I will be free from the care of many instruments" is a word of a student who helped the moving, and it just explains my situation. I hope it was realized.
2000.10.29
I got a PHS. In fact, I tried to buy it 3 weeks ago to fail because I had no ensurance paper. I felt the importance of student pass. Even if I'm carrying it, I never used it as a telephone but as a mail receiver.
2000.10.1
I moved from 1-Chome of Komaba to 2-Chome. It was easy to move 3 minutes on foot, but it may be hard to prepare next moving.
2000.9.28
I read a paper titled "Magnetic Property of Spin-Polarized Donors Carrying Oligothiophene Moieties" at the symposium of molecular structure.
2000.9.1
September has come. Academic meetings will be held continuously in this month, e.g., my presentation at the symposium of molecular structure (27th), two presentations of Prof.Sugawara at ICMM 2000 (from 16th), and those of Ishikawa and Chung at the symposium of structural organic chemistry (from 29th). Modification of this page may be difficult for a while.
2000.8.14
I joined to 32th summer school of structural organic chemistry (Tokyo/Hachioji) from Aug.11. I became one of the eldest members since I've already joined 6 times. I read a paper titled "Approach to an Organic Conductive Magnet Composed of TTP-Based Spin-Polarized Donors".
2000.8.4
Modification of this page has been stopped for 4 months. I've been very busy, and there have been only few topics. During this period,
  • The paper, "Preparation of Isolable Ion-Radical Salt Derived from TTF-Based Spin-Polarized Donor", appeared on Chemical Physics Letters. (April)
  • New members, 2*PD, 1*DC, 1*MC, and 1*secretary, had come to Lab. (April)
  • I got the first salary. (end of April)
  • I submitted the final version of my thesis. (earlier May)
  • Openhouse of Lab.s was held. The featuring was double video. (middle May)
  • We visited Oze as a lab's trip without Professor. I'd like to dismiss the detail. (June 6-7)
  • The layout of the ESR room was modified, and a voltammetric analyzer was sat up. (end of June)
It was felt in April that time goes slow, but June and July have fly away.

2000.3.30 [DC3]
Mr.Ishikawa read a coauthered paper titled "Preparation and Property of Benzo-Fuzed Donor Radical Having Tetrathiapentalene Skeleton" at the 78th annual meetings of the Chemical Society of Japan (Funabashi/ Nihon Univ.).
2000.3.29 [DC3]
Today, the proof of degree (doctor) was given. I joined the ceremony at Hongo campus in the morning, and in the afternoon, the proof was given at Komaba from Prof. Asano, who is the president of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. I returned my I.D. card, and my student life has been over.
2000.3.24 [DC3]
A farewell party was held at Lab. A half of Lab. member will leave. Although I'll be graduated, no ceremony was given for me.
2000.1.18 [DC3]
My presentation for Ph.D degree has been successfully finished.
2000.1.7 [DC3]
I submitted the revised version of my thesis.
1999.12.20 [DC3]
Schedule of Ph.D thesis presentation has been fixed. My presentation will be held on Jan.18, p.m.1:00. Furthermore, Mr. Takasu of our lab. will give a talk on Jan.19, and Master's course students must submit their thesis until Jan.21. Our lab may be under a storm in the week.
1999.12.17 [DC3]
I submitted my thesis just at noon. Although today is deadline, it seems that my submission was the first among the Dept. of Basic Science. What happened to others?
1999.11.25 [DC3]
The title of my thesis has been admitted to be "Spin-Polarized Donors as a Building Block for Organic Conductive Magnets".
1999.11.3 [DC3]
At last, the thesis ver.1.0 was completed (?) Whereas there are many vacant areas or wrong descriptions in it, it became 102 pages. I must finish until Dec.17.
1999.10.10 [DC3]
On Oct.1, some hosts of Sugawara's Lab turned out to have been hacked. The hosts are three Silicon Graphics INDY, which are used for X-ray crystallography. Since a SPAM mail damege occured during our staying at Osaka, the problem became more serious. Password files of two of the hosts had been rewritten, and one of them had been made up as an IRC server, which is used for free chat. The hacking seems to be performed on Aug.16 because the replaced files are dated at that day. On Aug.16, pentacle had been also attacked, and there were traces in logfiles. It needed these 9 days to solve these problems.
1999.9.30 [DC3]
I just came back from Osaka, where Symposium of Molecular Structure (Osaka Univ. Toyonaka) had been held. Yesterday, I read a paper titled "Preparation and Property of Ion Radical Salts of Spin-Polarized TTF Donors". That was my first oral presentation at an academic meeting.
1999.9.20 [DC3]
The 29th Symposium of Structural Organic Chemistry (Urawa/Saitama Univ.) was held. Prof. Sugawara made a special speech "Molecular Magnetism Pursued by a Structural Organic Chemist", and Mr. Ishikawa read a paper titled "Preparation and Property of Ion Radical Salts of Benzo-Annelated TTF Donor Radical". On Sep.22, Mr. Watanabe will read a paper titled "Preparation of N-Phenylpyrrole Annelatad TTF Donor Radical". Next week, Dr. Izuoka will make a invited speech. Very hard days now.
1999.8.28 [DC3]
The top page was renewed, and "recent topic" corner has opened.
