Most laboratories brought only few waste tanks today, although they brought many last friday. Maybe their experiments also have been stopped because of investigation.
28
(Thu)
10:50 start / leave 27:30
The investigation from the city health center finished without any trouble. But they came to our laboratory very late. Is there a trouble at somewhere?
27
(Wed)
13:20 start / leave 26:10
I submitted abstract, which should have been sent until last Saturday. My consciousness is filled with tomorrow's investigation.
26
(Tue)
10:50 start / leave 27:30
Something should not be planned after seminar, I felt deeply.
25
(Mon)
11:00 start / leave 27:30
It had been expected that there would be only few trouble about the records of chemicals in laboratory. That was denied by the final checking item.
24
(Sun)
Oh, the deadline of abstract was yesterday.
23
(Sat)
19:40 start / leave 25:50
In order to improve electric cabling systems on the experimental table, I bought some parts at Tokyu Hands, but they all did not work. I don't want to put tabletaps on the table where organic solvents could reach.
22
(Fri)
10:45 start / leave 26:00
As a preparation for the investigation from city health center, I checked the amount of stocked chemicals. There is only few trouble this time.
21
(Thu)
13:20 start / leave 26:00
We prepared waste tanks for tomorrow. They sumed up to 128L. Can we decrease CO2 by this style?
20
(Wed)
12:50-19:10atHongo / 20:10 start / leave 25:40
Seminar for newly-assigned faculty staffs of the school of engineering was held. It seems strange to call me a freshman. It happens because the seminar is held once a year on June, and I was assigned on August of last year. But I had not assumed only few attendants.
19
(Tue)
13:20 start / leave 24:50
I heard a windblast at window afternoon. It might be a blast from the explosion at Shibuya.
18
(Mon)
11:30 start / leave 26:30
I paid residential tax at once every year, but it changes to be drawn from salary every month, although I did not reply to the call for changing the way of paying residential tax. Anyway I pay fewer than before because my income during last year was the smallest.
17
(Sun)
Books for trial reading are stacking.
16
(Sat)
22:20 start / leave 26:20
Sunshine is so strong so I need rest before going to school after going out daytime.
15
(Fri)
12:45 start / leave 25:45
I missed an apointment in morning, then there were two meetings afternoon, then already finish a day?
14
(Thu)
10:10 start / leave 27:10
One week passes so fast during busy time. Today, TG measurement from morning, then I prepared PPt slides for NEDO project, then already this time.
13
(Wed)
9:45-13:45 Ritsumeikan Univ. 15:40-16:50 Kyocera 21:30 start / leave 25:20
It's a day for tour in Shiga. Since it takes time to move somewhere, time passed fast.
12
(Tue)
9:00-20:50 at Ritsumeikan Univ.
I made presentation at SNCPP07 [4th International Workshop on Supramolecular Nanoscience of Chemically Programmed Pigments], which was held at Biwako-Kusatsu campus of Ritsumeikan University. This is the first time for me to give longer presentation in English. It seemed no trouble, but also lacking new topic because most parts had been presented by Prof.Segawa before, then audience were also similar.
11
(Mon)
11:10 start / 19:10 leave
I planned to go out by NOZOMI153 shinkansen as same as the last trip to Osaka. But I became late then used NOZOMO155, which stopped last time. Fortunately, there was no accident this time. I will stay at Seta for 2 nights.
10
(Sun)
18:30 start / 26:20 leave
Can I finish preparation of English presentation on Tuesday?
9
(Sat)
16:30 start / 28:20 leave
Many students visited our laboratory after the guidance of entrance examination of graduate school. How many of them will actually apply?
8
(Fri)
9:45 start / 25:30 leave
It seems that access to these pages are increasing recently. Last night, I saw 3900 at counter. 4000 access may be achieved within this month.
7
(Thu)
10:10 start / 25:50 leave
Stock of vacant tanks for experimental waste is no more. Although I prepared many tanks for vacation time, I didn't plan to use all during normal time. Every week, there are 4 tanks of waste. The remaining tanks are 2.
6
(Wed)
11:30 start / 26:00 leave
Many things are left as they were brought to laboratory. I'm in tense state because of next week's presentation, which is the first time for me to give oral presentation in English. I cannot stop thinking that those ordered them should arrange.
5
(Tue)
10:50 start / 26:40 leave
I have small fever but that is only 36.9 degree. Recently, I often see that those who have fever more than 37.5 degree are refused to enter to avoid measles spreading. It should be limited to those have not experienced measles.
4
(Mon)
10:30 start / 27:10 leave
I tend to submit something after deadline these days. Deadline for application of the symposium on photochemistry was May 31, while I submitted June 1, 00:09. Deadline for abstract of the international workshop on next week was June 4, while I submitted June 5, 03:00. Such phenomena are natural because I start writing just after deadline.
3
(Sun)
18:00 start / 21:00 leave
I'm holding some materials for the renewal of Laboratory home pages, but they have been left for a while. Who will make final decision?
2
(Sat)
9:30 start / 28:00 leave
Today's laboratory meeting continued from 10:00 to 19:00. It's too long to finish all reports within a day. How to do if members increase more?
1
(Fri)
8:20 start / 27:30 leave
Since we have consumed much power for the photochemistry technical course seminar, laboratory meeting tomorrow may be hard.

May, 2007
31
(Thu)
9:30 start / 26:50 leave
In order to prepare for the photochemistry technical course seminar, we consumed almost whole day. It seems too much for 15 participants.
30
(Wed)
12:50 start / 25:50 leave
In order to prepare for the open-campus event, which will start from tomorrow, we arranged things in front of laboratory rooms. It proved that many things can be thrown if we have decision.
29
(Tue)
11:30 start / 26:30 leave
Time passed too fast, and nothing was left for the presentation at laboratory seminar or other meetings.
28
(Mon)
10:30 start / 27:00 leave
In this week, there are open-campus event, photochemistry technical course seminar, and our laboratory seminar. It took most time today to prepare for photochemistry technical course. I'm afraid that the experimental course could not finish within 2 hours.
27
(Sun)
Topics to write here seem decreasing.
26
(Sat)
17:50 start / 25:45 leave
There are many meetings at abroad during next year. ICPP, which could not be missed by those concern with porphyrins, will be held on Jul.7-11 at Moscow. IPS, which could not be missed by those concern with solar cells, will be held on Jul.27-Aug.1 at Sydney. Then meeting of the electrochemical society of Japan will be held at Honolulu on Oct.12-17.
25
(Fri)
9:30 start / 26:10 leave
The amount of experimental waste to be sent to ESC is also increasing constantly. Every week, I should carry them from bldg.56 to bldg.13, which is far away.
Prof.Segawa will be at Osaka tomorrow for entrance guidance of the Dept. of Applied Chemistry. I wonder whether such guidance has effect or not. In most cases, they would visit here to observe by themselves, as seen in the case of two students, who visited this morning.
24
(Thu)
10:50 start / 27:30 leave
Population of the experimental space of our laboratory is getting larger and larger, causing needs of time-shifted working.
23
(Wed)
10:25 start / 25:50 leave
Anchoring of the cabinets for chemicals was pointed out on the other day. We appealed that those would be transferred soon. However, the anchoring was inevitable. It's getting more difficult to rearrange things in laboratory.
22
(Tue)
10:00 start / 26:00 leave
Cleaning event of Komaba Research Campus was held. In case of our laboratory, the members of building 56 cleaned around building 13. Where were the members of building 13?
21
(Mon)
10:20 start / 27:00 leave
There was a visitor, who went 15th building of Komaba 1 campus, even we moved to RCAST more than one year ago. However, the distance seems near for those working at Hokkaido University.
20
(Sun)
I saw an old woman lying on the road with bloodshed on my way to shopping. Since 7 or 8 people were there, and they said that they already called ambulance, there was nothing to do but passing through.
19
(Sat)
17:10 start / 26:20 leave
In Japanese version of this page, I wrote notice that English edition was secretly resumed. I didn't inform immidiately because this might stop within three days. Also I'm afraid that somebody might notice my wrong English.
18
(Fri)
10:50 start / 26:00 leave
We are allowed to use the NMR system of IIS. Before using it, I visited somewhere inside IIS, like a suspicious person. I wonder why such a complicated building was designed.
17
(Thu)
10:10 start / 26:00 leave
It took long time to make a report of statistics about the usage of chemicals (PRTR). I have a lot of complain about it. When I managed the laboratory database before, the statistics were generated immidiately. Since UTCRIS (database for whole UT) contains some irregular master data, it is required to count again from notebooks. It seems meaningless, but we are forced to use such an incomplete database. It is nothing but officialism.
16
(Wed)
9:50 start / 26:50 leave
I cleaned the filters of our fume hood system because its power was getting weak. Then I found a lot of dust. When I cleaned each one of 6 filters, it was also needed to clean the filter of vacuum cleaner.
15
(Tue)
10:45 start / 27:45 leave
Finally, this english page has been resumed. There was long term suspension. I will try to write everyday.
